audacity how to remove background noise

Good audio quality is important. But the best equipment or an entire recording studio is not always available. With poorer hardware or outdoor recordings, background noise can quickly occur. But even then, your recording can still be saved! With software like Audacity, such noise can be quickly removed by using audacity software.

quick start Guide

  1. Open the appropriate file in Audacity. Select an area here in which only the background noise and no sound of your actual recording can be heard.
  2. Then click on " Effect " at the top and select " Noise Reduction... ".
  3. Now you have to select the item " Determine noise profile ". The window will automatically close so you can select an area in which to remove noise. If you want to denoise the whole file, just press [Ctrl] + [A].
  4. Now open " Effect " > " Noise Reduction... " again. Check your file by clicking " Preview " in the bottom left. If you are satisfied with the result, simply click on " OK ". Otherwise, you can still adjust a few options in the window, such as " Noise Reduction " or " Sensitivity " using sliders.
